- Mark your calendar!!!! Sunday School resumes August 10.
- Volunteers needed each Sunday to assist Sarah in the Nursery and Lauren in SummerChapel. We need to always have two adults present with our children in their programs. During the summer we need volunteers to help. We hope to get enough volunteers that you will only have to serve once every 2 to 3 months. If you are interested in helping, please call the church office (601-544-5551). We are also looking for a paid substitute for Sarah on Sunday morning when she needs to be off.

FUTURE EVENTS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS
HOLY LEISURE
a silent retreat with special guidance from licensed Spiritual Directors November 7-9. Maybe it's a reaction to our hectic, media-driven new century, or perhaps it's just the logical progression for those who seek a life in Christ. Whatever the reason, our HOLY LEISURE silent retreats are attracting seekers of all ages. Be still, and know that I am God (Psalm 46:10) reminds us of the importance of quieting our minds and calming our spirits in order to hear God's presence in our lives. Under the guidance of licensed trained Spiritual Directors, participants will be given spiritual tools that will allow the "ambient noise" of our lives to diminish and be fully present with God. For registration information please contact The Rev. Debo Dykes, debo@dioms.org, or 601-948-5954.
CHRIS TARDY TO BE THE NEW EDITOR OF THE TRINITY TIDINGS. Chris Tardy has graciously accepted the position of editor of The Trinity Tidings. Email all articles to her at

Sacred Vessels: healing our spiritual wounds, August 15th & 16th, 2008. Our spiritual life is a journey about change. And, possibly the most significant dimension of that journey is the opportunity to draw near to God. Participants in this program, under the guidance of The Rev. Jennifer Deaton, The Rev. Debo Dykes, The Rev. Rwth Ashton, Ms. Becky Williams, Ms. Louise Dillon, and Ms. Priscilla Preston, will be invited to experience themselves as "Sacred Vessels" in that journey; full, open, chipped, broken, restored. You will be drawn to depths you may have never experienced. Your approach to life will be challenged and you will be taken to the edge of your comfort zone, only to be restored in God's fullness. The retreat will be held in The Big House at The Duncan M. Gray Camp & Conference Center and space will be limited to 19 participants. Registration information and forms can be found online at www.dioms.org. Click on News and Events, and scroll to EVENTS. The "Sacred Vessels" retreat can be found in the EVENTS category. A printable registration is available by clicking on the blue are titled CLICK HERE FOR A REGISTRATION FORM. You may also call Debo Dykes at 601-948-5954, or debo@dioms.org.
Spiritual Renewal for Gay & Lesbian Persons: "Without A Map" with special guest The Rev. Brad Hinton August 22nd - 24th, 2008 at Gray Center. The quest for the full inclusion of Gay and Lesbian people into the Church has been likened to a "journey without a map." Without a Map is a retreat weekend for participants to consider the ramifications of this rambling journey. Through personal anecdotes, study of biblical passages, silent reflection and shared experiences, participants will find room to rejoice in recent gains while considering their own potential status as spiritual landmarks. For registration information please contact The Rev. Debo Dykes, debo@dioms.org, or 601-948-5954.
Ride Needed to Church. One of our parishioners lives at the Pine Meadows Center adjacent to Loyalton on Fox Chase, just off 28th about half way between the medical center and Lincoln Road. She wants to attend the 10:30 am Sunday service and needs a ride to and from church. If you can provide transportation for her, please call Fr. Bill at 601-329-3538.
We need a person to volunteer to chair the Calling & Caring Commission. If you are interested, please call Linda Trussell at the Church Office (601-544-5551).

TEACH THEM TO FISH MINISTRY
Support the "Teach Them to Fish" Honduran Mission. About a year ago John DeLancy and Chris Tardy started a microindustry mission to Omoa, Honduras. With the blessings of the Bishops of Honduras and Mississippi, they have met weekly to plan teaching stained glass methods to the ladies of Omoa. The main goal of the mission is to teach a skill that can provide an income for families that want to improve themselves and their communities. John has already made two mission trips to Omoa and needs to go back at periodic intervals to continue this ministry. They need your financial support to fund this missionary work. Please make your checks payable to Trinity Church, and appropriately mark the envelopes that are provided in the pews and put them in the collection basket or mail them to the church. Any and all amounts are welcome.
