FUTURE EVENTS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS

HOLY LEISURE a silent retreat with special guidance from licensed Spiritual Directors August 8-10, & November 7-9.  Maybe it's a reaction to our hectic, media-driven new century, or perhaps it's just the logical progression for those who seek a life in Christ. Whatever the reason, our HOLY  LEISURE silent retreats are attracting seekers of all ages.  Be still, and know that I am God (Psalm 46:10) reminds us of the importance of quieting our minds and calming our spirits in order to hear God's presence in our lives.  Under the guidance of licensed trained Spiritual Directors, participants will be given spiritual tools that will allow the "ambient noise" of our lives to diminish and be fully present with God.  For registration information please contact The Rev. Debo Dykes, debo@dioms.org, or 601-948-5954.

Abbie Rogers Civitan Camp is in need of sheets.  Please contact Sally Wilcox at 601-264-3222.

Mother's Helper Wanted.  A couple with three children (under the age of 8) would like someone to serve as a "mother's helper" to the wife in the afternoons from about noon to four.  The wife will be at home during these hours.  If you are interested in helping, please call Fr. Bill at 601-329-3538.

Ride Needed to Church.  One of our parishioners lives at the Pine Meadows Center on Fox Chase, just off 28th about half way between the medical center and Lincoln Road.  She wants to attend the 10:30 am Sunday service and needs a ride to and from church.  If you can provide transportation for her, please call Fr. Bill at 601-329-3538.

TEACH THEM TO FISH MINISTRY

Support the "Teach Them to Fish" Honduran Mission.  About a year ago John DeLancy and Chris Tardy started a microindustry mission to Omoa, Honduras. With the blessings of the Bishops of Honduras and Mississippi, they have met weekly to plan teaching stained glass methods to the ladies of Omoa.  The main goal of the mission is to teach a skill that can provide an income for families that want to improve themselves and their communities.  John has already made two mission trips to Omoa and needs to go back at periodic intervals to continue this ministry.  They need your financial support to fund this missionary work.  Please make your checks payable to Trinity Church, and note "Microindustry Mission" on the memo line.  Any and all amounts are welcome.

Trinity Parish Emergency Relief Fund

Trinity Episcopal Church Parish Emergency Relief Fund has been set up to help parishioners with catastrophic emergency expenses.  If you would like to contribute to this fund, please make checks payable to Trinity Emergency Relief Fund.  You should not put any individual's name on the memo line of your check.  If you wish your donation to go to an individual, include a note with the check that it is for a particular person.

Jody Burnett's Purse

If you are interested in helping Jody Burnett while he is in seminary, you can write a check to Trinity Church and put in the envelopes provided in the pews that have Jody's name on it.  If you give cash, please indi-cate your name and address on the outside of the envelope. You do not have to put Jody's name on the memo line of your check.  Just put it in an envelope with Jody's name on it.  Contributions designated to a specific individual on your checks are not tax deductible. Jody would like to acknowledge your gifts, so we will provide him with names and addresses but not amounts.  If you have any questions, please feel free to call the church office.

I hope you find this weekly announcement bulletin from Trinity Parish, Hattiesburg helpful and informative.  It is intended to provide you with news of the parish and upcoming activities for the weekend and next week in our community.
