Please Extend a Warm Welcome to Our Guest Preacher and Teacher !
The Rev. Carol Borne Stewart, Canon to the Bishop, will be preaching and presenting the rector's forum this Sunday, April 20. She will be here to talk about several issues pertaining to children, and will emphasize "Congregations for Children," a new initiative of the Diocese. Her teaching will be in the Rector's Forum at 9:15, and for this presentation, we will meet in the chapel. Trinity is one of the charter churches to become involved in this new program, so please come and hear what it is all about.

SUNDAY SCHOOL NEWS.
May 4th we will celebrate Youth Sunday. Please plan on attending and watch our EYC Youth in Action! Our Sunday Schoolers will have a sweet hymn to share and also projects that they have been working on! What a great day to be in church!! After the 10:30 service, our Sunday School Teachers invite everyone to come to the Parish Hall for a delightful English Spring Tea to celebrate our EYC Youth and Newcomers To Trinity!
May 18th will be our last Sunday School Class before "Summer Break" arrives. We have had a great year in our Trinity Community!

BACCALUREATE SUNDAY: MAY 4
The Daughters of the King will sponsor a Senior/Senior party honoring our Senior Citizens and High School Graduating Seniors between the services (9:15-10:15 a.m.), Sunday, May 4, 2008 in the Trinity Episcopal Church Parish Hall. Please bring an array of finger foods for this happy occasion.

2008 PICTORIAL DIRECTORIES ARE NOW AVAILABLE
The 2008 Church Directories have finally arrived! Everyone photographed receives one free. Come by the office Monday thru Friday to pick yours up.
We are taking orders for those of you who were not photographed and would like a directory.
Price: $6.00

FUTURE EVENTS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS
Youth Sunday is scheduled for the 10:30am service on May 4th. This service allows our young people to use their gifts and abilities in the leading of a worship experience that involves the community of believers. It is also is a service that shows the youth they are important, that we have confidence in them, and that they have something significant to offer to the Body of Christ. Please join us to show our young people your support and see the results of all the hard work they have put into this service.
Level 1 Training in the Catechesis of the Good Shepard Program at St. Andrew's Cathedral in Jackson, MS, May 17-18, 2008. The Training for this program includes approximately 100 hours taken over several weekends throughout the calendar year. If you are interested in this attending this conference or want to learn more about the Catechesis program you can call the church office at (601) 544.5551.
An informational EFM meeting
is scheduled for Thursday, May 1 at 5:30 p.m. in the Parish Hall. Anyone interested in learning about the EFM program is invited. Also there will be a discussion about the new evening EFM group that will start in the Fall.
Second Education for Ministry Group to Begin Fall 2008.
Ms. Jane Lee, a certified EFM mentor will facilitate an evening EFM group beginning in the Fall of 2008. You can learn more about EFM at

. The EFM program runs the entire academic year (34 weeks). Materials cost about $340. If you are interested in this program - which incidentally is about the best course of study in Bible, Theology, and Ministry outside of seminary - please contact the church office at 601-544-5551. Only 10 seats are available.
HOLY LEISURE a silent retreat with special guidance from licensed Spiritual Directors March 28 -30, May 2-4, August 8-10, & November 7-9. Maybe it's a reaction to our hectic, media-driven new century, or perhaps it's just the logical progression for those who seek a life in Christ. Whatever the reason, our HOLY LEISURE silent retreats are attracting seekers of all ages. Be still, and know that I am God (Psalm 46:10) reminds us of the importance of quieting our minds and calming our spirits in order to hear God's presence in our lives. Under the guidance of licensed trained Spiritual Directors, participants will be given spiritual tools that will allow the "ambient noise" of our lives to diminish and be fully present with God. Trinity Parish Emergency Relief Fund
Trinity Episcopal Church Parish Emergency Relief Fund has been set up to help one of our parishioners with her medical expenses. If you would like to contribute to this fund, please make checks payable to Trinity Emergency Relief Fund. You should not put the name of anyone on your check or on the on the memo line of your check. Put a note with the check that it is for our parishioner who needs help. She would like to acknowledge your gifts, so we will provide her with names and addresses but not amounts.

Jody Burnett's Purse
If you are interested in helping Jody Burnett while he is in seminary, you can write a check to Trinity Church and put in the envelopes provided in the pews that have Jody's name on it. If you give cash, please indi-cate your name and address on the outside of the envelope. You do not have to put Jody's name on the memo line of your check. Just put it in an envelope with Jody's name on it. Contributions designated to a specific individual on your checks are not tax deductible. Jody would like to acknowledge your gifts, so we will provide him with names and addresses but not amounts. If you have any questions, please feel free to call the church office. |

A BIG THANK YOU TO BJ ANDRADE FOR THE FOLDING MACHINE
BJ Andrade generously provided funding for the Church to purchase a folding machine. This will make preparation of bulletins, brochures, and other materials so much easier for the office staff and our volunteers.
